Cámara Argentina de Turismo (CAT)


Cámara Argentina de Turismo (CAT) represents and promotes the interests of the private tourism activity in Argentina, fostering a sustainable development of tourism, coordinating efforts with the Ministry of Tourism of the Nation, the Federal Board of Tourism (CFT) and the National Institute of Tourism Promotion (INPROTUR). It gathers the most important chambers, federations and associations representing the private industries that form part of the tourism activity as a whole, which is an essential socioeconomic activity of argentine economy. Working jointly with the public sector to design tourism policies, the Camara Argentina de Turismo promotes the development of internal tourism and the positioning of Argentina as a main tourist destination in the world. Center for Responsible Travel (CREST)

Its policy-oriented research focuses on tourism as a tool for poverty alleviation and biodiversity conservation, as well as socially and environmentally responsible tourism practices.

Colombia Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism

logos.jpgThe Colombian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism counts with the Vice Ministry of Tourism, which has a Direction for Quality and Sustainable Development of Tourism and a Direction for Sector Analysis and Promotion. The Direction for Quality and Sustainable Development of Tourism has a formal Quality System that allows tourism related services and tourism destinations to obtain the “Tourism Quality Certification”.

The “Tourism Quality Certification” can be obtained through the implementation of norms that contain requirements to develop tourism in a sustainable way. These requirements take into account the economic, environmental and sociocultural variables associated with tourism and they exist for five tourism related services: hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, touristic transport and the MICE industry; and for two types of tourism destinations: traditional tourism destinations and touristic beaches.
