GSTC in Mauritius: at the International Conference on Digitalisation and Sustainable Tourism, 23-24 May 2018

Luigi Cabrini, GSTC Chair, and Dr. Anna Spenceley, GSTC Board Member, were speaking at the International Conference on Digitalisation and Sustainable Tourism, Mauritius, 23-24 May 2018.

The Conference, which coincided with the 50th Anniversary of Independence of Mauritius, brought together high-level policy makers including Ministers of Tourism, CEOs of Tourism Boards, specialists, academics and experts to reflect on the challenges and opportunities of digitalisation for the tourism industry. The Conference was interactive and provide a forum for exchanging views and sharing best practices.

Dr. Anna Spenceley, GSTC Board Member, spoke as a panelist in the session “Tourism and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”.

Luigi Cabrini, GSTC Chair, moderated the session “Sustainable Tourism Accreditation and Certification”; and was a speaker at the plenary session “Fostering Sustainable Tourism Development in the Digital Era”, which available in the video below.

After the Conference, speakers and participants visited Long Beach Sun Resort to see the operations of a sustainable resort that has achieved EarthCheck Certified Silver.
