The Japan Tourism Agency was established to strengthen the “tourism nation” promotion system in Japan.
The Japan Tourism Agency, while steadily achieving the government targets of 40 million overseas tourists in 2020 and 60 million in 2030, through introducing the management of appropriate tourist destinations by utilizing GSTC standards by local governments and DMOs, aims to make Japan a “developed sustainable tourism nation” by maximizing the economic benefits of local communities and the benefits for tourists, communities, cultural resources and the environment, and minimizing the adverse effects.
In addition, Japan is a wonderful country that satisfies the four conditions (nature, climate, culture and food) required of a “tourism nation,” so please be sure to come for a visit. Please check here for more information about the Japan Tourism Agency.
