Critères de Destination du GSTC
Les Critères de Destination du GSTC (GSTC-D) ont été construits sur des décennies de travail et d’expérience dans le monde entier, et ils prennent en compte les nombreuses directives et normes pour le tourisme durable de tous les continents. Au cours du processus de développement, ils ont été largement consultés dans le monde entier, tant dans les pays développés que dans les pays en développement, et ce, en plusieurs langues. Ils reflètent les normes, les indicateurs, les critères et les meilleures pratiques de certification issus de différents contextes culturels et géopolitiques à travers le monde dans le tourisme et d’autres secteurs, le cas échéant. Les indicateurs potentiels ont été examinés en fonction de leur pertinence et de leur praticité, ainsi que de leur applicabilité à un large éventail de types de destinations. Ils ont été testés sur le terrain dans le monde entier. Le processus d’élaboration des Critères a été conçu pour respecter les codes de conduite de l’ISO et le code normatif de l’Alliance ISEAL, l’organisme international qui fournit des conseils pour l’élaboration et la gestion de standards de durabilité pour tous les secteurs.
Les Critères de Destination GSTC v2.0 sont la première révision des Critères de Destination GSTC. Le GSTC-D v2 comprend des indicateurs de performance conçus pour fournir des conseils dans la mesure de la conformité aux Critères. L’application de ces critères aidera une destination à contribuer à la réalisation du Programme de Développement Durable à l’horizon 2030 et des 17 Objectifs de Développement Durable. Pour chacun des critères, un ou plusieurs de 17 ODD auxquels il se rattache le plus sont identifiés.

D9 Solid waste The destination measures and reports on its generation of waste and sets targets for its reduction. It ensures solid waste is properly treated and diverted from landfill, with provision of a multiple-stream collection and recycling system which effectively separates waste by type. The destination encourages enterprises to avoid, reduce, reuse, and recycle solid waste, including food waste. Action is taken to eliminate or reduce single-use items, especially plastics.
