« The GSTC sustainable tourism training programs are a critical part of the GSTC’s mission of increasing knowledge and practices among tourism industry stakeholders », says Randy Durband, GSTC Chief Executive Officer.

Support of the UNEP 10 Year Framework Programme (10YFP)

The development of the STTP supports the GSTC’s ongoing initiatives supporting the UNEP 10 Year Framework Programme (10YFP) on Sustainable Tourism. Furthermore, the STTP is part of the 10YFP Portfolio. This entails that « the application of guidelines, tools and technical solutions to mitigate and prevent tourism impacts to the mainstream industry » is also mentioned in the course (Source: 10YFP Programme on Sustainable Tourism, Work Area 3).
