Join us and be part of our mission in promoting sustainable tourism principles and practices around the globe!
The Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), as the world’s only sustainable tourism accreditation body, is spearheading the effort to promote sustainability as a common goal for travel and tourism, one of the largest and most diverse industries.
The GSTC is an independent organization, playing the critical role of establishing and managing global baseline standard for sustainable tourism — known as the GSTC Criteria — and fulfilling key responsibilities as the global authority on quality sustainable tourism standards.
As a not-for-profit industry council, the GSTC engages with a worldwide network of members, who represent a wide range of tourism stakeholders – from UN agencies to leading international tour operators, to government organizations and national tourism boards, and to local and international hospitality brands.
Becoming a GSTC member means actively participating in our global community, contributing to the important work of the GSTC in promoting the widespread adoption of universal sustainable tourism principles. Your membership fees provide essential support to our operations, allowing us to create, revise, and place the GSTC Criteria in the public domain free of charge, and to offer our services at the lowest costs possible to ensure access to developing countries.
We believe that it is in everyone’s interest to ensure that destinations and businesses around the world are encouraged and capacitated to pursue sustainable tourism development. We invite YOU to be an active driver of that change by joining our global community of sustainable tourism leaders and advocates.
