The GSTC has formed a new working group focused on Business Travel and Meetings & Events (i.e. MICE). This group will investigate the role GSTC can play in promoting sustainability within MICE and business travel.

Tell us what you think on the current usage of and demand for certification in Business Travel and Meetings & Events through this short survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/GP3YPST

GSTC has formed he Business Travel Working Group (BTWG), in order to promote promote sustainable practices in all types of travel, and work closer with the business travel sector of the travel industry. The BT Working Group will seek to reach new audiences and attract membership among MICE (Meeting, Incentives, Conventions, Events) and Corporate Travel Managers (CTM) and suppliers. While most destinations and hotels accommodate both tourists and business clients, it is important to acknowledge the specialized needs and opportunities in the business market. The BTWG enables GSTC to better address these and ensure sustainability criteria are relevant.

The group recently formed and seeks members with experience and interest in MICE and CTM to join us in reviewing the certification landscape and market gaps, and developing recommendations for criteria and indicators. The group Chair is Dr. Aurora Dawn Reinke and Vice-Chair is Horst Bayer. To learn more or get involved, please email business.travel@gstcouncil.org.
