The Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) invites you to provide input in the creation of the GSTC MICE Criteria covering Venues, Event Organizers and Events/Exhibitions.

The GSTC Criteria operate as the universal foundation for sustainability standards in travel and tourism. It has been meticulously established through a comprehensive global effort to introduce a universally understood and adopted language around sustainability within tourism industry.

This first round of consultation for the GSTC MICE Criteria is open to all — whether you are a stakeholder, an industry expert, a sustainability enthusiast, or anyone who engages in MICE activities. We are eagerly looking forward to hearing your viewpoints and insights on the GSTC MICE Criteria.

We would also appreciate it if you could help us spread the word about this consultation. Please share this invitation with anyone you know who is directly or indirectly involved with MICE and tourism and sustainability. That could include tour operators, travel agents, hoteliers, event organizers, policymakers, academics, non-profit organizations, community representatives, or even individual travelers.

Advisory Group

The Advisory Group takes a role of high-level advice provision to the Technical Team by providing useful, relevant and coherent information related to the MICE industry.

Key stakeholders will contribute their knowledge and experiences to the MICE Criteria development by providing intensive feedback and comments on the MICE Criteria drafts during two public consultations and engaging in the feasibility assessment.

Feasibility Assessment

The feasibility assessment will be a study to evaluate the suggested criteria based on a compiled draft from the GSTC Technical Team. This is to assess the readability (how easy-to-understand the criteria are); measurability/auditability (how objective they are); and feasibility of the requirement (how likely they are to be met) of each criterion. The feasibility assessment will start on September 15th, 2023.
